1997 Indiana State University Print Exchange: GAMBLE
This is a duplicate edition of the print
print exchange given to the Permanent Collection.
During the summer of 1997 eleven graduate students of the Arts at Indiana State University came together to produce this suite of prints and photographs. The main objective of the suite was to exchange artwork
with one another and create exhibition opportunities. Through consensus, the theme GAMBLE was established which resulted in eleven unique interpretations of the word. There are 11 artist prints in total, a title page and a colophon page. Acquisition numbers for this suite are 97A.12.01 through 97A.12.13
Viewer presented with a rather intimate image. It looks like a playing card, and the image is a joker that is right side up on the top part of the composition and upside down in the bottom part of the composition. In the upper right the word win appears, and in the lower left the word lose appears upside down. There is an outline that surrounds the composition as a containing element.
